Pictured here, the S-Pol radar was used in 2008 for the Southwest Monsoon Experiment/ Terrain-Influenced Monsoon Rainfall Experiment (SoWMEX/ TiMREX) in Taiwan. An extensive observation campaign, the project aimed to gain more information on precipitation for predictions and modeling in the monsoon season.
